local train

local train is an installation made together with soundartist Isak Eldh at the Power plant in the town of Norrköping in May 2008. When we were invited to show something at the Power plant, we immediately knew that we wanted to work with material from the special room that the old turbine depot provides. We wanted to mix it with pictures and sounds from the film “Shaping the Future”, which has its origin in a very special industrial environment. We wanted to highlight and reflect the place and the time it tells us about in a narrative of a travel through the scenery made up by the traces of the former industrial work. The view from a train roof became our visual point in the search for pictures that live there and sounds that probably hide there. As onlookers, we become an unexpected subject on the roof of the local train when it gropes its way through the pictures of times long past.
